prohibited items

Effective from: launch day (date to be confirmed at CP6). Last updated June 2026.

Kaparay is a marketplace for pre-loved South Asian fashion: clothing, accessories, jewellery and footwear. The items below may not be listed. Listings that breach this policy are removed at moderation, and repeat breaches lead to account action under the terms of service.

1.Never allowed

  • Counterfeits and replicas of any kind, without exception (section 2)
  • Anything outside the fashion catalogue: clothing, accessories, jewellery and footwear only
  • Used cosmetics and used underwear
  • Weapons and weapon-styled accessories, including ceremonial blades sold as dress items
  • Items that infringe someone else's intellectual property, including unauthorised prints of designer fabrics and copied embroidery patterns sold under the designer's name
  • Stolen goods
  • Items subject to a product safety recall
  • Anything illegal to sell in the UK, or that requires a licence the seller does not hold

2.On counterfeits, plainly

Zero tolerance, and the machinery to back it: listings at and above £300 are reviewed by a person before going live, receipt-backed listings carry the Verified Source badge, and every listing has a report button. A confirmed counterfeit means a full refund to the buyer (item, postage and fee), the item is not returned to circulation, and the seller's account is frozen pending review. A second confirmed counterfeit is a permanent ban.

3.Honest listings of authentic pieces

Naming the designer of a genuine piece is welcome and right. What is not allowed is implying a designer connection a piece does not have: "inspired by" listings must not carry the designer's name in the title, and replica-grade copies are counterfeits however they are described.

4.Brand owners

Rights holders can report a listing through the report button on the listing itself or by email to enquiries@kaparay.com with the listing link and the basis of the claim. Substantiated reports are removed expeditiously, every takedown is logged, and repeat infringers lose their accounts.

5.Changes to this list

This list may be updated as the catalogue and the law evolve; the live version on this page is the one that applies. Removal decisions can be appealed under the terms of service: write to us and a person will look again.
